A regular public transport stop in Sofia’s “Moderno Predgradie” neighborhood has been transformed into a work of art thanks to our international volunteer team “Colors of Solidarity 2.” The initiative is part of a project under the European Solidarity Corps program, implemented by our "Values, Virtues, Integrity" foundation.

Over the course of 41 days, seven young volunteers from Italy, Spain, North Macedonia, Germany, France, Portugal, and Latvia, aged between 18 and 30, took part in various activities in support of the local community. Their efforts ranged from providing logistical support for events to participating in clean-up campaigns and improving public spaces in the city.

This artistic initiative was led by Monica Paz Vazquez, a graffiti artist from Spain and a long-term volunteer with the foundation. Motivated by their desire to deliver a strong social message, the young participants chose to paint a bus stop in the neighborhood. Their artwork focuses on the issue of pollution and the importance of taking greater responsibility for protecting the environment.

The mural features a female figure representing nature, surrounded by flowers and greenery, set in sharp contrast to a landfill scene depicted on the opposite side. The composition symbolically highlights the delicate balance between the beauty of the natural world and the destructive impact of pollution.

The project was carried out with the support of Sofia Municipality – Vrubnitsa District, which provided the paints and sprays, and with the permission of Sofia Public Transport Company. This volunteer action is part of the broader mission of the "Values, Virtues, Integrity" Foundation within the European Solidarity Corps program to promote active citizenship and engage young people in social causes related to environmental protection and solidarity.
