Youth for Climate Action

Between 7th and 13th September 2021 in Samokov, Bulgaria VVIF implemented the youth exchange project "Youth for Climate Action". With the creation of this exchange we aimed at raising awareness among 40 young people between 18 and 30 years old from 2 European and 2 African countries about the impact of climate change on humanity and identifying possible solutions for local and global actions.

The project objectives were:

- Increase the level of consciousness concerning the climate change and its impact on humanity of 40 participants from Europe and Africa;

- Bring participants to an increased understanding about the environmental problems that the world faces nowadays;
- Get motivated to make a positive change in their local environment;
- Identify solutions that young people are able to carry out when they go back home;
- Teach participants how to organize campaign for environmental awareness;
- Support participants to eflect on the learning process and learn more about Youthpass.

The program included non-formal education activities connected with the topic of human change and its effect on humanity.  Participants learned about the planetary boundaries and the difficult situation of African countries with shortage of water. They were educated in campaign creation.

During the exchange participants created short movies on environmental topics in order to support reflection on the topic by the local communities in their countries. All of them received Youthpass certificates.

To spread the results of the project we created the "Youth for Climate Action" booklet containing somme of the tools used during the exchange. It can be downloaded fromhere.
