Learning Through Theater

"Learning through Theater" is an Erasmus+ project in the field of Adult education developed by VVI foundation in cooperation with Associazione Culturale Smascherati! from Perugia, Italy. It consists of 4 main activities, designed to achieve the following objectives:
- to provide opportunities for diversification of the organization's creative portfolio, by enhancing the creative competencies of the foundation's core and new team members in the field of Performing Arts and, especially, in the potential of theater and its means of expression to stimulate the social inclusion of vulnerable groups;
- to develop the Foundation's profile as a proactive and recognizable organization with its specific theater-related knowhow on domestic and international scales;
- to expand the organization's international cooperation opportunities (through access to new international forums, audiences, and users of theater production and with a view of future Foundation's services based on theater-centered inclusive processes and practices in Bulgaria and abroad.

The first activity within the project was a job- shadowing visit by the key staff of VVI foundation in Perugia, Italy in  order to learn from the experience of the the italian theater association. The visit took place between 12th and 14th June 2021. The reperesentatives of VVIf were able to conduct strategic meetings with the mamagement of the organisations and gain know-how onmethodologies for inclusive theater activities. They were able to observe the theater activities "Human Beings" and "Teatro Refugo".

The job- shadowing was followed by teaching abroad activity in July 2021. Three experts from VVI foundation conducted a training course in Perugia within the staff of Association Smascherati! on shadow theater.  The technique was well appreciated by the Italian theater association and even included in their next public performance.

Between October 30th and November 1st 2021 four staff members of VVI foundation attended the structured training course "Wearing a Red Nose - Introduction to Clown Art", facilitated by by Danillo Cremonte and the team of Smascherati!

The last activity within the project was a structured training course called " From everyday life to theatre - introduction to improvisational theatre" that took place from 7th to 11th june 2022 in Perugia. Four staff members of VVI foundation attended the activity and learned new inclusive toools to apply in their daily work.

The activities were followed up by two multiplier events in Sofia, where the learners shared valuable tools from the training courses with local and international audience, interested in inclusive theater.
